“The unexamined life is destined to repeat itself”

Counseling is our opportunity

to give space, time and attention to work on ourselves. It is a private area of thought, habit, belief and desire to seek to understand ourselves, as well as those we love, so we can move forward, grow and love well. I hope, as we work together, you will be strengthened to fulfill your purpose, heal wounds holding you back, and thrive in the relationships most dear to you.

MARRIAGE COUNSELING

Two becoming one – marriage is something most of us long for and work hard to get. Making it even more confusing is when one or both partners want out of the marriage because it has become painful and difficult.
I believe in marriage. I believe we have a Creator who sees a bigger picture and purpose for marriage than our momentary comfort and pleasure. I believe marriage is a commitment worth fighting for and investing in.
I consider it an honor to work with couples through the complex dynamics of marriage in hopes of healing hurts, restoring faith and trust, learning healthy communication and rediscovering intimacy.

INDIVIDUAL COUNSELING

Life can be hard and shouldn’t be faced alone. My goal is to come alongside you to help you navigate your journey and relationships via encouragement, practical help, strengthening communication skills, understanding behavior patterns and helping clarify your core values and goals. I offer a free, 15-minute phone consultation for clients interested in seeing if I am a good fit before scheduling an appointment. I am currently only seeing individuals regarding relational and marital therapy.

PREMARITAL COUNSELING

Premarital counseling has the potential to decrease the likelihood of divorce 31 percent. I use the SYMBIS (Saving Your Marriage Before It Starts) assessment as an option for couples entering marriage for the first, second or third time, or for marriage enrichment regardless of the number of years together. A marriage is only as healthy as the least healthy person in it. Working through the SYMBIS report, I will identify your strengths and challenges as partners and as individuals. In addition to couples work in my office, I am available to facilitate a SYMBIS group onsite or nearby location.
